The seventh edition of the Lagos Jazz Series will be held on 25 and 26 November at Muri Okunola Park and the Moorhouse Sofitel Hotel in Lagos.
This year’s edition of the annual series, started by Oti Bazunu in 2010, will celebrate Cesaria Evora, the Cape Verdean queen of Morna. Lito Coolio, a contemporary street band from Cape Verde, will perform their reggae-infused brand of Morna at venues of the series in honour of the barefoot diva.
Past editions of the Lagos Jazz Series have featured internationally artists such as Hugh Masekela, Marcus Miller, Yasiin Bey, alongside Nigerian acts such as MI, Bez, Ayo Awosika, among many others.
Other artistes billed to perform this year include Scottish guitarist and singer Hamish Stuart, Nigerian trumpeter Etuk, and Amaka Amaka.
