The organisers of Cotton Fest in South Africa have announced the winners of the Open Mic finale and the Fashion Collab competition ahead of the fifth edition of the event set to be held at the Old Park Station in Newtown, Johannesburg, on 6 April.
The brainchild of the late rapper Riky Rick, since its inception in 2019, the festival has served as a platform for collaboration across music, fashion, lifestyle, and sports culture.
The winners of the Open Mic contest include Polly T, Pegg and Bizzy Acwesh, while Brthrhood444, Lembe and Swear Ex Clothing emerged as the winners of the Fashion Collab competition.
“These exceptional creatives epitomise the essence of the new wave in youth culture, embodying individuality, passion and innovation,” a statement reads.
Meanwhile, the next batch of musical acts for the event has been announced. It follows the unveiling of more than 30 first wave acts, including DJ Zinhle, Emtee, A-Reece, Sjava, Focalistic and DJ Harvey.
This new list of programmed performers, which brings the line-up to more than 150 artists, includes DBN GOGO, Dee Koala and DJ Maphorisa.
