Renowned South African producer and internationally acclaimed DJ Da Capo has released his much-anticipated new album, Indigo Child II: Love & Frequency. A sequel to the celebrated Indigo Child, the new project marks a profound evolution in his musical journey, a reflection on love, growth, spirituality, and sonic exploration.
Rooted in the concept of the Indigo Child, individuals believed to possess heightened creativity, intuition and purpose, Love & Frequency represents both a tribute to the music that shaped Da Capo and a declaration of how his sound has matured. Known for pushing the boundaries of Afrohouse, Da Capo brings a rich blend of global influences and bold experimentation to the forefront of this release.
“This album is a reflection of my musical journey,” Da Capo said. “It’s about who I’ve become through music, how I connect with the world, and the love and frequency I’m continuously learning how to share through sound.”
Indigo Child II: Love & Frequency features a series of high-profile collaborations. Highlights include a poignant track with R&B star Elaine, the soulful, genre-blending ‘Free Spirit’ featuring FKA Mash and Julian Place, and the emotionally charged ‘Phakade Lami’ featuring Mawhoo and SoulStar. Each track showcases Da Capo’s signature style: deeply emotive, rhythmically layered, and spiritually resonant.
Born Nicodimas Sekheta Mogashoa in Seshego, South Africa, Da Capo is a self-taught producer and DJ celebrated for his unique fusion of Afrohouse, soul, and electronic music. His stage name — meaning “from the beginning” in Italian — encapsulates his artistic philosophy: ever-evolving, always authentic.
Since signing his first record deal at just 20, he has released a series of acclaimed projects, including Touched EP, Return to the Beginning, and the breakthrough Indigo Child album. His remix style, often referred to as Da Capo’s Touch, has garnered international acclaim — most notably with his reimagining of Angélique Kidjo’s classic ‘Agolo’.
