The GLO CAF awards are an annual celebration of Africa’s finest Football talent, organised by the Confederation of African Footbal and the Telecommunications Group, Globacom. The 2015 edition is scheduled for January 8 2014 in Lagos, Nigeria. However it will not be a purely Football-focused event, as the organisers have put together a mind-blowing list of Pan-African talent, to perform at a mega-concert billed to celebrate the event.

The array of talent includes, the Congo’s Fally Ipupa, South Africa’s Jazz legend, Hugh Masekela,  the phenomenal Uhuru, Egypt’s folk singer Hakim, ; pan African group, Cirque D’Afrique Tanzania’s  Diamond and South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir. Nigerian talent will include Afrobeat star, Lagbaja, Hipster, Flavour,  P-Square, Wande Coal and the diva, Omawumi.

Globacom’s Regional Marketing Director, Ahok Ishrani, described the concert as “ a careful selection of music stars and highly decorated performers, whose songs are currently ruling the airwaves across the continent”. The performances are scheduled to feature in a carefully timed intersperse through the larger award programme schedule.

Music in Africa shall be live at the venue, watch out for more news on this truly important event.
