Lagos-born sound artist Adey Omotade has released his first vinyl project, Ęęro : Eeşu (AFS060), through Johannesburg-based label Afrosynth Records. The release marks a departure for the label, which is expanding its catalogue to include work from artists outside South Africa.

The four-track vinyl features compositions titled ‘Ni’ran’, ‘Oori : Ogbe, ‘Of’o : Nkantation’ and the title track ‘Ęęro : Eeşu’. Drawing on Yoruba traditions, experimental sound design and acoustic ecology, the project combines elements of ritual, storytelling and contemporary electronic production.

Omotade, whose work is shaped by experiences in Paris, Berlin, Ivory Coast and Johannesburg, incorporates influences from Yoruba spiritual practices and festivals. His compositions integrate percussive rhythms, chants and ambient textures to reflect themes of migration, memory and cultural identity.

The release continues Afrosynth’s efforts to document African music traditions and contemporary experimental sounds. The label, founded in South Africa, has built a reputation for issuing reissues and original recordings across genres rooted in African cultural expression.

Ęęro : Eeşu (AFS060) is available in vinyl format, with digital versions accessible through Afrosynth Records’ platforms.
