Nigeria: Dadaboy Ehiz named host of Africa Now Radio

Launched in 2020 as Apple Music 1’s first global African radio show, Africa Now Radio features a mix of traditional and contemporary sounds from the continent. The one-hour weekly show was hosted by Nigerian DJ and music producer Cuppy in 2020 and South African presenter LootLove, who took over in 2021.

Based on the Africa Now playlist, Africa Now Radio With Dadaboy Ehiz will continue to showcase the latest African sounds, including amapiano, Afrobeats, highlife, Afro-house, hip hop and bongo flava, among others.

“I am super excited to be the new host of Africa Now Radio on Apple Music 1,” Dadaboy Ehiz said. “I’m thrilled about people experiencing African music from my point of view and being the face of such a prestigious show. Born in Lagos, Ehizojie ‘Dadaboy Ehiz’ Okeoguale kicked off his media career while studying at Lead City University in Ibadan, where he hosted a number of shows. An alumnus of the MTV Base VJ Search in 2013, he has gone on to work with global brands including Heineken, Coca-Cola and Smirnoff.

Dadaboy Ehiz is also behind Dadaboy TV and The Dadaboy Show, which seeks to bridge the gap between millennials and generations X and Z by having open and honest conversations with accomplished personalities in the creative industry.

Over its two-year run, Africa Now Radio has featured exclusive interviews with some of the continent’s most popular musicians, including Davido, Tems, DJ Maphorisa, CKay, Black Coffee, Omah Lay, Mr Eazi, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Angélique Kidjo and Aṣa.
