SA: Solly Moholo to headline New Year Gospel Festival

Acclaimed South Africa gospel musician Solly Moholo will perform at the second annual New Year’s Eve Gospel Festival at the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens in South Africa on 7 January.

Moholo will perform alongside gospel stars Takie Ndou, Sbu Noah, Puleng March, Putuma Tiso, Bucy Radebe, Omega Khunou and Sipho Ngwenya.

They will be joined by other artists including Nhlanhla Sibisi, Tshidi Chauke, Caleb Melo, Pinkie Petja, Minah Rams, Paul K, Keboletše Molokwane, Psalmist Sefako, and more.

The festival’s organiser and gospel artist Mosa Cofindence Maake said the vision for the event goes beyond music. “For me, first, as an artist, the vision is to create opportunities for me and others. Secondly, as an organiser, it is to create a space where artists worship with and entertain their fans while promoting their music,” Maake said.

The vibrant event founded by gospel music enthusiasts after seeing the need to start the year on a high note.

Born Solomon Molokoane, Moholo is widely known as the king of mokhukhu gospel music. The musician blends traditional rhythms with a backing choir. Moholo has more than 20 albums under his belt and several sold out concerts in South Africa.
