Ghana: 2020 Eastern Music Awards announce nominees

Organised by Hi 5 Production, the awards platform, which is now in its fourth year, seeks to highlight and celebrate outstanding musicians from the Eastern Region of the country. 

The nominees will compete for awards in 28 categories including Song of the Year, Reggae-Dancehall Song of the Year, Eastern International Act of the Year and East-side Song of the Year.

Rapper Koo Ntakra leads this year’s nominations with seven nods, followed by Elly Element with six and Tee Rhyme with five. Other nominees include Ko7 and Phrings Icon with four nominations apiece.

Big names Kuami Eugene, KiDi and Wendy Shay have been nominated in the Eastern Pride of the Year category.

Voting is expected to end on 19 December.
