Patoranking to headline Road to MAMA Lagos concert

Reggae-dancehall star Patoranking will be headlining the concert. Last year, the ‘No Kissing Baby’ singer performed at both the Road to MAMA concert in 2015 and also at the main awards ceremony held in Durban. The latter event saw Patoranking take home the award for Best New Act. 

This year, he will be joined by hip hop act Nasty C who is set to heat up the MAMA main stage in Johannesburg. Rapper Ycee will also be performing at the Hard Rock Cafe show.

Also performing at the event are Skales and Runtown. Rising afro-pop/highlife newcomer Koker and the songstress Simi complete the line-up. According to the organisers: “There will be added excitement at this year’s gig, as MTV Base will be revealing nominees in 7 different MAMA categories, including Best Female, Video of the Year and Artist of the Year.”

The event will also see several DJs performing. These DJs include DJ Xclusive, DJ Humility, DJ Kaywise, DJ Hazan and DJ Ttb.

Highlights of the Road to MAMA Lagos concert will air on MTV Base (DStv channel 322) on October 2016.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the Hard Rock Café from 20 September. Price: 20,000 naira ($63). Doors open at 9pm local time.
