Music In Africa Foundation 3rd AGM: Dates announced
By Music In Africa Foundation
19 Aug 2015 - 14:44
Notice is hereby given that the Music In Africa Foundation 2015 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 8 October at the Goethe-Institut in Yaoundé, Cameroon at 10am. The agenda and further information shall be finalised by the Music In Africa Management Board and circulated no later than 28 September 2015.
Complementary events
The AGM will coincide with two important cultural events that are taking place in Cameroon, namely the African Creative Economy Conference (from 09 to 10 October 2015) and Le Kolatier music market (from 07 to 10 October 2015). Both events will attract hundreds of music professionals and arts practitioners from across the continent to debate and help formulate strategies that help sustain and grow the creative sectors in Africa. AGM attendees will therefore have the opportunity to attend these complementary events (including music showcases, conference sessions etc.) and more importantly, network with like-minded professionals from all over Africa.
Travel expenses
Non-board members please note that we are not able to cover expenses for everyone. There are, however, a number of spots available for members to attend the AGM with paid travel and accommodation expenses. To be considered for this, please email Puleng.Plessie@Johannesburg.goethe.org and request the expression of interest form, which needs to be completed and returned before or on 4 September 2015. The Management Board shall select attendees to receive funding, and shall strive to achieve diversity of representation by geographic location, profession and gender as per the composition of the membership. Members will be notified by 15 September if approved for funding.
