South African rapper to tour East Africa

South African Rapper Ntokozo Mdluli popularly known by his stage name K.O, will make a maiden tour to Tanzania. After Tanzania he will head to Kenya where he will participate at various events. While in Tanzania it is hoped he will collaborate with local artists there.
K.O who has already collaborated with leading female Tanzanian artist Vanessa Mdee in their hit song ‘Nobody but me’ will be in Dar es Salaam between 13 and 17 September. ‘Tanzania is quickly becoming the hub of the new African sound. Artists here are extremely talented and a good number of them have gained international recognition. I’m looking forward to exploring opportunities available to create new music with my fellow artists from Tanzania, the rapper says of his first tour in Tanzania.
After Tanzania he is expected to tour Kenya and perform at the Ebony lounge on the evening of 17 September in Nairobi. He will also take part in a panel discussion at the Storymoja Festival on 18 September at Nairobi’s Arboretum botanical garden. In The discussion dubbed ‘Artist talkback’ explore K.O. will be joined by Kenyan rapper Rabbit and hip hop artist Octopizzo. The discussion will revolve around hip hop music.
K.O is considered to have birthed the new sound of South African Hip Hop/Rap sound. His first single ‘Mission Statement’ received significant airplay across Southern African and East Africa, but his follow-up single ‘Caracara’ (featuring Cashtime Life artist KiD X) has received international recognition.
His debut album Skhanda Republic K.O was voted hottest MTV MC of the Year 2014 and 2nd African artists to watch by BBC1 Xtra. He has also received, amongst others, two MTV Africa Music Awards Nominations and five Channel O music video nominations.
