South African singer, rapper and songwriter Ricky Tyler has released a 10-track album titled Happy 2 Be Alive, which is available for streaming and download on all major digital platforms.
The record boasts an impressive line-up of collaborations with artists like Bien on ‘Another Episode’, Tyson Sybateli on ‘No More Discos’, Karun on ‘Video Games’, Vuyina on ‘Finally Famous’, PLXYGRND on ‘You Were Mine’ and Tellaman on ‘Sunday Drive’.
“Creating Happy 2 Be Alive has been an incredibly cathartic process for me,” Ricky Tyler said. “This album is a testament to my journey and the experiences that have shaped me. I hope it resonates with listeners and reminds them that despite life’s challenges, there’s always a reason to be grateful and hopeful.”
The Def Jam Africa artist began his career in 2017 with the release of ‘Swerve’, a trap-inspired track which caught the attention of US-born, SA-based rapper Tshego, who remixed it. He has also worked with a number of artists including M.I Abaga, Alpha P, KLY and Harvey. He credits artists like Frank Ocean, Childish Gambino, Drake, Kanye West (Ye) and Jay-Z as inspirations.
