Born in in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Lu‘Menesm (real name Menes la Plume) is a an artist based in Malawi. He sings hip-hop music and is also a poet. His love for music began in 1998 while he was a teenager. He used to write poetry and sing rap music. Menes relocated to Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi in 2008 due to political disturbances in the DRC. His rap music is a fusion of Congolese and French languages.
He established a music crew called ADKS. He has toured different cities of Katanga and participated in different festivals around the country.
Apart from making music, he music promoter and participates in many cultural activities around the country. He also teaches creative writing at the Dzaleka Cultural Association where he is the founder and President. He is also a Communications & Liaisons Assistant at Ministry of Higher Education.
