Call for applications: Arts educators in SA

South Africa's Sibikwa Arts Centre is looking for 12 enthusiastic and dedicated, arts educators to teach as part of the Artists In Schools programme in Gauteng.
The programme will be instated in Gauteng and first preference will be given to teachers living in Tshwane.
Interested candidates should send a CV to michael@sibikwa.co.za with a letter of recommendation.
The application deadline is 3 December and teaching will commence on 3 February until the end of May 2019.
Requirements
- Teachers/facilitators must display a commitment to socially engaged creative practice.
- Teachers should be open to work in all creative forms such as music, dance and visual arts.
- Candidates must have two or three years teaching experience in the arts.
For those who have no formal facilitation training, Sibikwa Arts Centre will offer a short training course based on the South African Qualifications Authority registration unit standard 1158487 (facilitate learning in arts and culture modules and programme). The course will start on 12 January.
About Sibikwa Arts Centre
Musically, Sibikwa Arts Centre offers training in various African instruments ranging from the marimba, drums, uhadi and umrhubhe, kudu horn, shakers and other small percussion instruments. From 2010 to 2012, the institute had an indigenous orchestra that specialised in all the above-mentioned instruments.
