Visuals for ‘Already’, a collaboration between American pop icon Beyoncé, Major Lazer and Shatta Wale, have been released.

The video, published on 31 July to widespread approval globally and particularly in Shatta Wale’s home country of Ghana, heralds Beyoncé’s Black Is King visual album, which premieres exclusively via Disney+ tonight.

Shatta Wale celebrated the iconic collaboration on social media. “Thank you My Queen for believing in my talent and giving me a platform to share my good message to the world ... God will forever bless you,” he said.

‘Already’ is taken from the American singer’s 2019 album The Lion King: The Gift, which serves as the soundtrack for the remake of The Lion King film.

The album also features other contemporary African greats including Wizkid, Burna Boy, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Busiswa and Salatiel.

Set to pulsating Afrobeats, the song charges listeners to celebrate their rich culture and regal identity. Its attendant video is an explosion of bold colours and vigour, and functions as an intersection between the pop idioms of both the US and Africa. With its lyrics, choreography and fashion aesthetic, 'Already' celebrates the infinite beauty of black people.

According to Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment production company, the film, which took a year to shoot across New York, Los Angeles, London, South Africa, West Africa and Belgium is “a celebratory memoir for the world on the black experience”.

Meanwhile, Black Is King is interspersed with skits, choreography, music and other artistic elements. It will feature several collaborators from The Lion King: The Gift. It will also see appearances from Jay-Z, Kelly Rowland, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell, Aweng Ade-Chuol and Adut Akech.
