Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Tems has announced South African R&B artist Elaine as the special guest for her Born In The Wild Tour Johannesburg date.

The concert will take place on 20 March at The Dome, located next to the iconic FNB Stadium in Nasrec. Adding to the excitement, MTV Base has been revealed as the official media partner for event.

Elaine, known for her chart-topping hits and soulful artistry, is set to bring her electrifying stage presence to the tour. Renowned for her breakthrough EP Elements, which propelled her to international acclaim, Elaine’s performance promises to infuse a unique South African touch into the concert.

“Partnering with Tems for this monumental concert is a proud moment for us,” Paramount Africa senior vice president and general manager Monde Twala, said. “At MTV Base, we remain committed to showcasing and celebrating African artists who are shaping the future of music. This concert highlights the unifying power of music, and we’re thrilled to be part of this extraordinary journey.”

The tour is named after her debut album of the same name. The 18-tracker, out via RCA/Since ’93, was heralded by ‘Me & U’ and ‘Love Me Jeje’ singles. It follows her EPs: For Broken Ears (2020) and If Orange Was a Place (2021).

A largely autobiographical work, the album is sonically steeped in R&B and fusions of Afrobeats and amapiano. It features fellow Nigerian act Asake and American rapper J. Cole. Ahead of the LP, Tems, a BET Award and Grammy winner, described the collection as her “most special moment.”

Tickets to the concert are available here.
