Call for applications: Arts and culture scholarships in Egypt

The Sawiris Foundation is accepting applications from future Egyptian artists for its Sawiris Arts and Culture Scholarship (SACS) programme.
The programme is intended for artists seeking quality education abroad to enrich their talents in the vast field of the arts and culture.
Applicants should be highly motivated, talented and socially engaged as well as aware of the critical role that art plays in a developing society.
“It aims at fostering these talents until they are effective artists in the scene, who in return enrich their country and society with their acquired knowledge in their designated fields,” SACS said.
Applicants should have received admission letters from a top university in the following fields:
- Music
- Fine arts
- Visual arts
- Digital arts
- Conceptual and performance arts.
- Theatre studies
- Lighting
- Stage design
- Costume design
- Film studies
- Art history
- Art criticism
- Media design
- Curation and art management
Applicants should have applied for:
- Bachelor’s degree up to four years.
- Master’s degree up to two years.
Eligibility criteria
The applicant must:
- Be of Egyptian nationality.
- Be admitted to a top university in the targeted field.
- Fulfil the language requirements.
- Have social and community engagement.
Requirements
The applicants should submit the following documents in PDF format:
- Completed application form including a personal statement.
- Proof of unconditional admission.
- Proof of university ranking.
- Artistic/cultural portfolio.
- Copy of valid passport.
- One recent personal photo (white background).
- High school certificate.
- All undergraduate transcripts and certificates if applying for a master’s degree.
- Two references if applying for a master’s degree and one reference if bachelor’s.
- Proof of employment (if applicable).
The successful applicants will receive:
- Tuition fees.
- Learning materials.
- Living allowance.
- Travel expenses.
- Health insurance.

- Receive your admission letter from a top university in the field of choice.
- Submit the application with the required documents.
- Download the scholarship application here.
- Send the application to sacs@sawirisfoundation.org with the email subject in the following format: final application, first name, surname, and field.
The application deadline is 1 February.
