Call for applications: Ethiopia music workshop for Tanzanians

The Goethe-Institut in Ethiopia and Jazzamba School of Music are calling on Tanzanian musicians to apply for a training workshop at the East African Creative Music Campus (EACMC) in Addis Ababa.
The workshop will last for 20 days and has been scheduled to take place sometime between July 2020 and June 2021.
The Global Music Academy (GMA) and Action Music Tanzania will select several musicians who will participate in a pre-music workshop at the Action Music Academy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where nine participants will be selected to enrol at the EACMC.
“The Creative Music Campus is a project by the Global Music Campus (GMC),” GMA artistic director Will Ramsay told Music In Africa. “The GMC focuses on developing the music industry by institutionalising informal music education. The Creative Music Campus has been developing an innovative two-year curriculum since 2010 for use in music academies in the region to provide professional training for aspiring young musicians.”
The campus is funded by Goethe-Institut and the EU’s Erasmus+ programme, which supports activities in the fields of education, training, youth and sport.
The application deadline is 15 March 2020.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be above 18 years old.
- Be interested in music education.
- Be Tanzanian.
How to apply
To participate in the workshop, musicians must play either of the following instruments:
- Keyboard.
- Guitar.
- Electric bass guitar.
- Saxophone.
- Trombone.
- Trumpet.
- Drums.
- Percussion.
Singer are also welcome to apply.
The Global Music Academy will provide the selected applicants with the following:
- Flights.
- Accommodation.
- Local transport.
