The Gambia’s Deejay Limbo releases debut EP in Austria

Deejay Limbo, the Austria-based Gambian reggae and dancehall artist, released his six-track EP Le Debut at Club Spielplatz in Linz on 9 November.
The night of the album launch featured supporting acts Blady El-Puro, Darka Real Mandingo, Rooftop Movement, Boom Sound Diamond from Germany and Stefan Uhlir (Kings Crown Sound).
The debut EP features the tracks ‘Gass Up’, ‘Wakanda Luv’, Condo, ‘Dohi Bandi’, ‘Ndekeyeto’ and ‘Dance RMX’.
Deejay Limbo’s manager, Fabala Colley, confirmed the artist was currently on tour of Europe. He had already performed in Germany and would go on to play in Italy.
Deejay Limbo was born in Latrikunda-German in the Gambia’s northwest. He began deejaying in 2005 and added singing and rapping to his act in 2010.
In 2011, he emigrated to Austria where he is confirming his status as a reggae-dancehall artist and songwriter, producing music and amassing a dedicated fan base.
Limbo has collaborated with artists that include Jamaica’s Jah Vinci, Ghana’s Stonebwoy, Rebellion Da Recaller, Vypa, ENC and Singhateh.
He has worked with top producers including Hakim from Sunland Music, a former member of The Boys group, on tracks such as ‘Smiling Coast’, ‘Mi Gyals Dem Badd’ and ‘Overdose’.
DJ Limbo was awarded at the inaugural Wah Sa Halat Music Awards in 2016. He has shared the stage with international reggae artists Etana, Romain Virgo, Tarrus Riley, Gyptian, Aidonia and Konshens.
