International brand design consultancy Hakuna Group this week announced a partnership with veteran Ghanaian producer and sound engineer Possigee.
The arrangement will see Possigee helm new sound and audio design projects for the company.
Hakuna revealed in a statement that it is “thrilled” about the deal to have the Ghanaian music expert lend his “incredible expertise to bring unique auditory elements to our services.
“Sounds and audios play a significant role in branding by contributing to brand recognition, setting the tone, and creating emotional connections with customers,” the statement further reads. “They help establish a unique identity, enhance brand recall, and evoke specific emotions or associations. Incorporating sounds and audios in your branding services can amplify your brand’s presence, making it more memorable and engaging for your audience across various platforms and touchpoints.”
Possigee, born Awal Alhassan, is the founder of MOB Studios in Accra. He is widely known for working with Sarkodie, Wizkid, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and Fuse ODG, among other African posters.
Possigee is also behind the annual Possigee Mix Class, an intensive audio mixing and mastering workshop for emerging and established sound engineers, as well as artists and other music professionals.
Speaking to Music In Africa last year, he revealed that the initiative forms part of efforts to change the narrative of the Ghanaian music landscape by facilitating a culture of knowledge sharing among producers and engineers.
“Most Ghanaians find it difficult to teach what they have learnt. Others leave the world with all the knowledge they have without imparting it to the next generation. This initiative seeks to correct that,” he said.
