Tanzanian music star Harmonize has teamed up with Nigerian Afro-pop icon Rudeboy for a powerful new single titled ‘Best Couple’, a heartfelt ballad celebrating enduring love, deep loyalty and emotional resilience.
The track, now available across all major digital platforms, marks a seamless fusion of East and West African sounds, bridging Bongo Flava and Afro-pop traditions.
Sung in Swahili and English, ‘Best Couple’ combines Harmonize’s emotive melodies with Rudeboy’s soulful delivery to create a universal love anthem. Produced by Cukie Dady, the song features rich vocal layering and lush instrumentation, reinforcing its emotional weight and wide appeal.
“This song is about that rare kind of love,” Harmonize said. “The kind that doesn’t fade, that stays strong, no matter what.”
Rudeboy added, “It’s not just about romance. It’s about friendship, loyalty, and being each other’s peace. That’s what makes a couple the best.”
Beyond its romantic undertones, ‘Best Couple’ delivers a message of unwavering emotional support, offering solace to those in love, healing from heartbreak, or searching for meaningful connection. With its cross-cultural collaboration, the song is poised to resonate with audiences across the continent and beyond.
‘Best Couple’ adds to Harmonize’s growing catalogue of continental hits. Born Rajabu Abdulkahali Ibrahim, Harmonize is widely regarded as a trailblazer of the Afro Bongo genre, a blend of bongo flava and Afrobeat. Since breaking out with his 2015 debut single ‘Aiyola’, he has released a stream of hits including ‘Kwangwaru’, ‘Happy Birthday’, ‘Bado’, ‘Kainama’ (featuring Burna Boy and Diamond Platnumz), and 2023’s viral amapiano track ‘Single Again’.
His music has attracted global attention, with ‘Happy Birthday’ notably used by Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o. Recent releases like ‘Me Too’ (with Abigail Chams) and Furaha have continued to expand his fanbase across Africa and the diaspora.
Harmonize’s growing list of collaborators includes some of the biggest names on the continent, such as Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, DJ Neptune, Diamond Platnumz, Khaligraph Jones, and Eddy Kenzo, as well as international acts like Jamaican star Spice and Grammy-winning violinist Miri Ben-Ari.
‘Best Couple’ not only reinforces Harmonize’s reputation for boundary-pushing artistry, but also cements his role as a unifying figure in African music, bringing together diverse voices and styles to tell stories that matter.
