Nigerian artist Nissi Ogulu has revealed that she was the lead project engineer for the 2022 Range Rover, which was launched earlier this week.
Nissi took to social media on Thursday to reveal the new car, which the singer said had been in the pipeline for three years.
“It has been a pleasure being part of the team to bring this beautiful car to life over the last three years and I’m happy to see it finally unveiled to the world,” she said.
Before working on the new Range Rover, the musician was a project engineer for Jaguar Land Rover between 2016 and 2018, when she worked at several departments, including customer-focused product design and special vehicle operations.
The news adds to the Port Harcourt-born songwriter and multi-instrumentalist’s growing portfolio of achievements, which also include the title of creative director at Spaceship Entertainment and the founder of Creele Animation Studios. Nissi holds a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Warwick. She’s also a certified chartered engineer, with a focus on sustainable product design and innovation.
Nissi’s sound is defined by a fusion of urban pop, Afro-jazz, house and Afrobeats. She is behind 2020’s Ignite EP, and is signed to the Spaceship Collective along with Grammy-winning brother Burna Boy. She is also the daughter of internationally renowned music executive Bose Ogulu.
