Open call: ACT Thuthukisani Atologa briefing session in SA

Creatives are invited to submit applications to participate in the upcoming ACT Thuthukisani Programme Atologa 2024 information briefing session to be held via Zoom on 8 February.
The following will be considered for the once-off investments:
- Formal (registered and fully compliant with SARS and CIPC (Companies and Intellectual Property Commission).
- Informal (not registered with CIPC or SARS) or the Community Arts Centres (functional community centre with a specific remit to encourage arts practice and to provide facilities such as theatre space, gallery space, venues for musical performance, workshop areas, educational facilities, technical equipment, etc).
Applicants must be in the arts and culture sector, and under the following disciplines:
- Digital arts: making use of technology in creative and art making, ranging across a variety of media including digital painting, animations, photo painting, illustrations, photos, videos and even sculpture.
- Performing arts: performance in front of a public audience: may be live or digital, including e.g. dance, acting, musical theatre, spoken word, stand-up comedy, etc.
- Music: arrangement of sound (vocal or instrumental) to form a functional melodic line, music distribution, events, sales, marketing.
- Visual arts: ceramics, drawing, painting, sculptures, printmaking, artistic photography, mosaic and craft.
The following will not be considered for once-off investments:
- Projects with overall budgets exceeding R1 million.
- Expenses related to starting a business or capital costs.
- International and/or continental travel.
- Projects which do not have arts or culture as a core element/focus.
- Building projects (infrastructure, capital costs, purchase of office equipment e.g. chairs, tables, etc).
- Large production budgets for existing film projects. No films, music videos, documentaries, series, etc. (for all film related productions please contact the National Film and Video Foundation).
- Organisations/projects/individuals not based in or not operating in or from South Africa.
- Activities that have already taken place or that commence before the outcome of the application is available
