Road to MAMA heads to Lagos

The show will feature the 2015 MAMA nominees performing at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. Rappers Olamide and Phyno, three nominations between them, will perform for guests. As will Best Female and Song of the Year nominee, Yemi Alade and Best Collaboration nominee Iyanya. Olamide’s protégée and Song of the Year nominee Lil Kesh will also be onstage.
Tanzanian singer and frequent collaborator with Nigerian artists Diamond Platnumz will entertain as well. He is up for three awards: Best Male, Best Live and Best Collaboration. Completing the line-up are DJs Neptune, Xclusive and Caise.
For the award proper on 18 July, the continent will welcome American singer Ne-Yo who will be promoting his album ‘Non-fiction’. Alex Okosi, senior VP and managing director at Viacom International Media Networks, owners of MTV, said: ‘Ne-Yo is an all-round class act who will greatly complement the African performers on the show.’
Road to MAMA, Lagos will open at 21:00 hours. Tickets are set at 5000 naira ($25) and can be purchased here.
