SA: Bonang Matheba wins E! People’s Choice award

Matheba triumphed against top African artists Wizkid (Nigeria), Cassper Nyovest (South Africa), Diamond Platnumz (Tanzania), Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Davido (Nigeria) and Tiwa Savage (Nigeria) as well as TV personality Minnie Dlamini-Jones. 

Bonang will receive her award on the red carpet from E! Africa host Kat Sinivasan. Other winners in different categories are Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Aniston and P!nk.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be the first ever winner of the African Influencer of the Year category at the E! People’s Choice Awards,” Bonang Matheba said. “I still can’t believe it, I cried when I found out and I can’t thank my fans enough for voting.

“Being able to represent Africa and all it has to offer on such a global scale really is a dream come true. Next stop Santa Monica.”

The E! People’s Choice Awards will broadcast live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica on 11 November from 4pm CAT (DStv channel 124).
