The SA State Theatre is calling on young semi-professional arts practitioners to apply for its 2018-19 incubator programme.
All proposals must be submitted to eyct@statetheatre.co.za with the genre being proposed as the subject line of the email. The deadline for applications is 6 July.
The programme is run by the theatre's Education, Youth and Children Theatre Department and intended for young creatives with experience in their respective genres. Successful candidates will receive financial, venue, technical and artistic support.
Arts practitioners with proposals in the following genres will be considered:
- Music
- Musical theatre
- Children’s theatre
- Dance/physical theatre
- Drama
- Poetry
- Visual arts
Requirements
Applicants must have experience in their specialised field with a record of work previously done. They must also be based in the Tshwane metropolitan area.
The following documents must be submitted:
- A motivation letter of how the production is relevant, meaningful and entertaining.
- Creative team information that includes biographies and contact details.
- An audio clip is required for music
- A portfolio is required for visual artists
- Full script and a brief synopsis.
- Four-page narrative treatment (for dance/devised production[s]).
