Call for Artists: Bayimba International Festival 2016

Every third week of September, Kampala comes alive as a vibrant and eventful city when an unparalleled feast of music, dance, theatre, film, and visual arts from renowned and upcoming artists are brought to Uganda to showcase at the annual Bayimba International Arts Festival.

In readiness for the 2016 edition, artists of all disciplines are invited to submit their applications for consideration. The ninth edition of the annual event is scheduled to be held between 23 and 25 September 2016. Applications are accepted until 30 April 2016. Interested artists are requested to submit the following information:

  • A completed entry form (download)
  • A profile/short biography (max. 800 words) with recent picture(s)
  • A presentation of your work (in case of music/film: one or two of your recordings on CD, DVD or MP3)
  • A technical rider/data sheet

Submissions made via email you should not exceed 5MB. Due to the many submissions anticipated to be received; only successful applicants will be notified. Since its first edition in 2008, a wide variety of known and budding artists from East Africa and beyond have performed at the different stages of the Bayimba International Festival.  In 2015 the festival marked the eighth edition.
