Music discovery platform SoundCloud is offering interested creators 50% off its Next Pro tier for a limited period.
The subscription platform, which was previously called Pro Unlimited, usually costs $12.50 a month. It includes services in the SoundCloud Next subscription plan, previously known as SoundCloud Basic, and Next Plus, formerly called Repost, which costs anything from $2.50 a month.
Next Pro, meanwhile, will be discounted for the first year of subscription, the company said. The plan entails all services in the Next Plus tier, as well as unlimited song uploads and an option to get a premium profile badge.
Additional services include fan insights, analytics and access to other tools through partners such as music-making app Splice, among others.
The new offer follows SoundCloud’s recent rebranding of its artist services platform from Repost to SoundCloud for Artists.
The rebrand is intended to prepare users for forthcoming products and services by the platform according to senior vice-president of creator Tracy Chan.
“The launch of SoundCloud for Artists and new names of our subscription plans set the stage for what’s next, with new products, features, and services to come,” Chan said. “SoundCloud for Artists is now your centralised home for all things distribution, promotion, monetisation, and more. SoundCloud for Artists is how we collaborate, create, and celebrate something better together for who’s Next in music.”
Chan added that SoundCloud for Artists is “an elevated, all-in-one platform for artists to connect with fans and accelerate their careers”.
The platform is home to about 40 million creators making it the world’s largest community of music creators.
