Open call: Boiler Room Broadcast Lab programme for musicians

Boiler Room has opened applications for Broadcast Lab #14, an open call programme supporting musicians, collectives and curators developing new approaches to music broadcasting and online performance.

Application deadline is 17 May.

The initiative focuses on experimental formats for digital music presentation, with an emphasis on underrepresented artists, marginalised communities and emerging cultural scenes.

Selected projects will be produced and streamed on Boiler Room’s global platforms, providing both production support and international visibility.

Funding and support

  • Selected projects will receive a production grant of up to £10 000 (about $11 700)
  • Additional in-kind support includes professional production assistance
  • Projects will be broadcast in full on Boiler Room’s channels

Eligibility

Applications are open globally to:

  • Individual musicians
  • Music collectives
  • Curators

Proposals should demonstrate:

  • Innovative approaches to music programming and online broadcasting
  • Strong consideration of visual presentation and format, including digital or hybrid approaches
  • A focus on inclusivity and representation of underrepresented communities

Programme focus

Broadcast Lab prioritises projects that:

  • Explore new formats for music storytelling and performance
  • Expand the boundaries of live and digital broadcasting
  • Platform diverse voices within global music culture
