Music streaming platform Audiomack has announced a donation to the Dream Catchers Academy for Girls in Nigeria.

Audiomack’s donation, earlier this month, included musical equipment to the tune of ₦2m, including trumpets, drums, guitars, saxophones and keyboards.

The Dream Catcher Academy is a programme of The Dream Nurture Initiative for Girls and Women founded by Seyi Oluwole with the vision of creating a sustainable future for orphaned and disadvantaged girls through education, dance, music and art.

With presence in all 54 African countries, Audiomack currently reaches more than 25 million monthly users globally, operating with a commitment to connecting with its African audience by investing resources into the region’s culture and communities.

Audiomack’s donation, earlier this month, included musical equipment to the tune of ₦2m, including trumpets, drums, guitars, saxophones and keyboards.

The academy stated that the gesture, representing the first set of music equipment it now owns, will greatly contribute to the revitalisation of its music programme.

“At Audiomack, our mission is to move music forward and this means empowering the next generation of creatives,” Audiomack VP of marketing Charlotte Bwana said. “We are constantly finding ways to give back to communities where we operate while supporting the future of the music industry. With this donation, we hope that the new instruments will encourage them to pursue music.”

“We are glad to collaborate with Audiomack, who shares in our vision to transform society by empowering the girls through quality education, dance, music, and art,” Dream Catchers Academy founder Seyi Oluwole said.

This isn’t the first donation of this kind by Audiomack. In April 2021, the company donated $5 000 worth of tablets and headsets to the Slum2School initiative, providing 40 student learning sets. This contribution aimed to support students in remote African locations, granting them access to quality education, entrepreneurial skills, and psychosocial support.
