Headies Awards 2023 : Libianca reçoit un prix

Cet événement, qui en est désormais à sa 16e édition, a été fondé par le magazine Hip Hop World en 2006 pour honorer les réalisations musicales d’artistes principalement nigérians. Les Headies 2023, organisés aux États-Unis pour la deuxième année consécutive, ont récompensé les œuvres sorties entre janvier 2022 et mars 2023, avec des trophées remis dans plus de 30 catégories. 

L’un des moments marquants des Headies Awards 2023 a été la victoire de l’artiste camerounaise Libianca. Marquant l’histoire en tant que première artiste camerounaise à remporter un prix aux Headies, Libianca a raflé le titre convoité de Meilleur artiste d’Afrique centrale de l’année . Cette réalisation remarquable met non seulement en valeur les prouesses musicales de Libianca, mais témoigne également de l’influence et de la reconnaissance croissantes des artistes d’Afrique centrale dans l’industrie musicale africaine. 

Il y a quelques mois, elle a également été la première artiste camerounaise à figurer dans le Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs Chart. Son titre « People » s’était hissé à la deuxième place du classement. En juin 2023, elle a été élue gagnante aux BET Awards dans  la catégorie Viewer’s Choice : Best New International Act, aux BET Awards 2023.

L’ascension de sa carrière musicale force l’admiration. Elle est parmi les artistes d’Afrique centrale ayant remporté plusieurs prix prestigieux durant l’année 2023.
