South African singer Ma Nala will feature in The Escape art showcase in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 5 December.
The outdoor event is organised by Expressions and will showcase music, art, fashion and beauty. Hosted by actress Lunathi Mampofu, the show will also feature live performances from upcoming local musicians. The full line-up will be announceed soon.
The event will also feature poetry sessions, live art painting and illustrations, complimentary massages, and make-up tutorials.
“The Escape is a space for artists to reimagine the future and for our guests to walk into an interpretation of an ideal and extraordinary world,” Expressions founder Tumi Mkhondo told Music In Africa. “Expressions is a platform that was created this year and it focuses on music, art, fashion and beauty. It’s a platform aimed at telling stories through those artistic forms.
“What we’ve realised is that there’s a lot of talent in these categories but what they lack is exposure and a great following. So we’re creating a platform for upcoming artists to showcase their work and also try to help them build their brand. We will be assisting the artists with their corporate identities, setting up their websites, and pairing them with the right mentors and funding.
Some of the brands that will take part in the event include Zyle Clothing, BMashilo, Simonsig, Afro Botanics and Yaka Denim Wear.
The event will start at 12pm. Purchase tickets here.
