30 Apr 2020 - 13:33
South African house musician NaakMusiQ will be the featured artist for the third episode of Jameson Smooth Session Saturday on 2 May.
The online event will stream on the Jameson SA YouTube channel at 7pm, while award-winning actor and comedian Trevor Gumbi will join Glen Biderman-Pam on the Sunday Special. The pair will entertain fans via the Jameson SA Instagram page on 3 May at 3pm. Thereafter, the comics will move over to Jameson SA’s IGTV channel for comedy skits and sketches.
The first instalment of Smooth Session Saturday roared into life with Kwesta’s performance on 18 April. The second episode was headlined by K.O on 25 April. The sessions form part of the Jameson Connects: The Stay Inn virtual platform.
The platform seeks to eradicate social boundaries while encouraging people to overcome their fears and reconnect as a global family. It also aims to raise funds for bartenders and restaurant workers affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Jameson will donate money for a certain number of people who tune in to watch the live streams.
Meanwhile, hopeful rappers are encouraged to participate in the Rap a Verse competition to stand a chance to collaborate with Kwesta on his upcoming album. The winner will also win a trip to the Jameson Distillery in Ireland, when travel is permitted again.
The deadline for entries to the competition is 10 May and details can be found on the Jameson website.
